November 18, 2009 Contrasting Two Multi-Billion Dollar Companies. A Company's worth is measured not just by face dollar value but how much it contributes to society in general – this includes job offerings, employees treatment, paid taxes, Customer treatment, affliates sustenance, social causes contributions, etc. Within the past two years, I am blessed to worked for two multi-billion dollar companies with two distinct variances. I worked for DirectBuy- A multi-billion dollar franchise and I also worked for a retailer I will identify as Retailer X for personal reasons. Since DirectBuy, 'the worse allowed scam', excoriates retailers daily makes this comparison even more interesting. I worked at the number one DirectBuy center in North America, yet the total number of employees were about thirty. The Retailer X store I worked at is not the biggest in its chain-line but employs over two hundred and thirty people. Needless to mention I earn over two times at retailer X topping DirectBuy. Although important, this is beyond personal experience. Overall, the employees at retailer X earn little more than DirectBuy. The reason I earn lot more at retailer X is because I work under sales commission and at DirectBuy as customer service representative. My conscience did not allow me to work as salesperson at directBuy – I only helped their victims as customer service. I had sales experience before working at DirectBuy, never applied for sales position at DirectBuy. My sales record before and after working at DirectBuy are strong evidence that I could have make money there as salesperson and I must admit their salespeople make money. Even though directBuy promised me health insurance after three months of service, I worked there about eight months but they never offered me health insurance. There was no form of benefits and that was the case for most of the employees while I was there. Retailer X is really not any better in general treatment towards employees. I worked at retailer X five days a week for eight months before I was considered as “full-time” and thus started earning benefits. It's important to admit the benefit package at retailer X is by far better than the one DirectBuy offered to few of its employees. Again, it is beyond personal experience – they both woefully failed in employee treatment and the government is partly to be blamed for their sins on hard working people. Customer treatment is primarily fair exchange in value before anything. The DirectBuy I worked for demands over $5000.00 membership fee and charges other fees on most orders. I will say over fifty percent of my customers at DirectBuy were unhappy and a good percentage of the “happy ones” were under illusory savings as I outlined on www.mbioc.net. I will estimate about fifteen percent at Retailer X are unhappy but about five percent of those have unreasonable expectations. For example, people will buy things, used it and want to return it with full refund. DirectBuy will not accept most shipped cancellation and certainly no return on used products. Customer treatment is a broad topic for such an article but, overall, I cannot think of a retailer worse than DirectBuy in customer treatment. Affiliate sustenance is basically helping other businesses stay in business. DirectBuy spends most of it's money on advertisement to muzzle the media. Indeed DirectBuy spends more money than retailer X on advertisement but advertisement is just one aspect of affiliate sustenance. Also it is important to understand three to four retailers spend to sustain the media more than directBuy, so it is dumb for the media to allow directBuy to build distrust that may bring down retailers. Beyond media sustenance, let's analyze manufacturer sustenance. DirectBuy uses manufacturer's name for it own scamming advantage. They may tell the potential customer we have KitchenAid, Whirlpool, Maytag etc without telling them they have few series on those brands. Such customer disappointments may seem as 'customer treatment' problem but it also affect manufacturers on different fronts. First, manufacturers must understand informed customers yield satisfied customers and unsatistified customers can retaliate against a brand– catalog ordering is not for every product or customer. Secondly, the choice and first hand look retailers offer should be appreciated rather than undermined. I believe retailers should boycott any manufacturer that deals with directBuy and I am thinking of publishing the list. This month, Retailer X happens to cancel a contract with one manufacturer that deals with DirectBuy and the Manufacturer is 'crying and may go bankrupt'. The contract cancellation was not due to directbuy dealing unless God is answering my imprecations. Even if the top five retailers were to fight DirectBuy by boycotting manufacturers may benefit the retail industry. Social Cause contributions: I have never heard DirectBuy contributing to any social cause before, during, and after working at DirectBuy. It's a heartless company. Retailer X and many other retailers contribute to many social causes from Asthma to cancer; sports to education. Considering such sharp differences, I wonder how dumb are our elected officials and media to allow DirectBuy to still exist. If retailer X is contributing this much more over DirectBuy – how can we allow DirectBuy to castigate retailers? Retail is not only a major symbol of Capitalism but also a yardstick of economic progress. Capitalism respected retail so much that history taught us communist countries like Cuba used “tearing down of retail signs and advertisement” as assault to capitalism. Now we have something similar or worse (DirectBuy) allowed in north America and our leaders are ignorant of the consequences. After Million DirectBuy ads of “tired of paying retail?”, Barack Obama is under the illusion that his occasional appeal on people to spend on retail to save the economy or splice DirectBuy's ads. Retailer X pays more taxes, perhaps twice, than DirectBuy; employs lot more, serves the community etc yet Obama cannot think of anyway of helping retailers beyond worthless calls. My co-worker lost an over ten thousand dollar sale to DirectBuy the very first month I started at retailer X. Presently, retailer X is undergoing some investigation over advertisement rules that few people know about. There are government rules to protect retailers from each other but there seem to be no rule for DirectBuy, a wholesale company/membership club that seems to target and unfairly compete with only retailers. DirectBuy seems to have a strong lobbying team that puts them above the law and Obama's wishful “change”. The media wants us to believe advertisement works but 'there is no psychological effect on consumers over the negative ads of DirectBuy'? Greed is a big problem – when DirectBuy comes with millions to advertise, please understand few hundred thousands from different retailers adds up and is more important. Historians and Guinness book of records need very little research to confirm my assertion that Barack Obama's Gender equal pay bill is indeed the most fatuous first bill of all times. A bill supposedly to help millions of victims is without verifiable advantage and it has been almost a year. This bill is another prove that Obama is sometimes a dangerous follower and/or an adept sinister. No foul framed - I am just being pro truth and Justice as usual. Gender pay difference has been a hot topic for years. In search for female votes, Ms. Hillary Clinton politicized it and Obama followed. As president, of all problems, s/he chose “gender equal pay” as his first bill. The bill was lauded and has succeeded in silencing the empty whining but without a single verifiable advantage. The bill was not even analyzed after his hundred days. The media ignored it and may ignore this precious article. As a champion for social Justice, I am pro equal pay but they choose a wrong “how” with an evil “why”. There are so many workplace injustices but they choose one of the least significant of them for political reasons. Generally, Companies want the least possible expenses thus use bargaining tactics when employing. Pay difference is often not of hatred towards the victims but rather due to conflict of interest among other things. Blacks are also often underpaid to whites for the same Job. Less than three months after Obama signed that bill, I was nearly a victim of pay discrimination. Even though I was to be a commission salesperson – my training wage was informally discussed with an HR Representative to be $15 per hour. After the interview, perhaps due to my soft spoken nature and didn't discussed pay during the interview, the manager assumed I will take anything. The manager asked another HR representative to prepare my papers at $13 per hour. While finalizing the endless paper work, I was handed a paper that indicated $13 per hour as my wage. I signed it because my training was only to be three weeks then to 'purely' commission – But I told the HR representative that I discussed $15 per hour before. She raised the issue with a panicking voice to the manager during a speaker phone call and didn't know I was there. Anyway, few days after signing $13 per hour they finally decided I will be paid the regular $15 per hour the white boys before and after me are paid as training wage. Whereas it could have been a racial discrimination, I honestly don't think that was the case. Will the manager/company continue to favor others over me? According to Obama and many others, “Men lost more jobs than women” during the recession and 'blacks lost more jobs than whites'. So based on these indisputable facts, black men are triple victims disproportionately. Race equal pay bill is 'suicide' to Obama and Gender equal pay bill is his illusory and temporary advantage. Obama should know today's truth may be censored, but historians will research, people will evolve, and Justice must eventually prevail. The gender pay debate is no more than matriarchal whining that distort facts and ignore circumscriptions. If men are 'paid more' and women consume most – what is the whining about? May be his upcoming 'gay bill' will solve the problem. Like I noted on www.mbioc.net, sometimes the perpetrators are women in management and other minorities. The dangerous aspect of this bill includes its divisive nature. Eventually few highly educated women may be able to steal millions through this bill but the vast majority of 'underpaid women' do not have the intelligence to produce discriminating evidence and/or afford lawyer fees. If Obama sincerely wants justice in the workplace, he needs to help www.mbioc.net or set-up a similar bureau that can vigorously investigate and tackle things differently. He promised “sweeping changes” so we expect new effective approach. Signing bills that encourage 'robbing' through the court house is the known American way, not the promised “change” nor “sweeping changes”. We appreciate how the bill paused the whining but the problem remains and there are other workplace injustices. Politics is full of hypocrisy. When I worked for Distribution Directe, the workforce was about eighty percent women yet there was a pay discrimination against women, by mainly female management/HR, that most of the victims were ignorant of. Due to the fact that the Job was hourly, not commission, I negotiated a higher pay than most of the white boys were started off. More interesting, we had a contract from the Government that required a criminal record check and other things imposed by the government through the contract. I laughed to my stomach, they want to background check near minimum wage employees but not the company on a million dollar contract? Obviously, the government may claim they didn't know about it but do they investigate companies like employees? May be if the company owner was a critical writer then they can claim the tax record difference between the sexes led them to investigate, and ultimately censor “lawfully”.. Matriarchalism may be the reason Obama is not yet attacked on this bill. Through me or come next elections, he will have to answer serious questions unless he chooses justice and side with us. One man's work history signals Enormous Workplace injustices: The primary reason I am revealing these experiences is not to punish my ex-employers but for governments to understand the need to have a bureau that will monitor workplace injustices and try to improve social Justice. Suppose there was such a bureau, the problem wouldn't have been this gross or at least I could have reported it. If I were a spy agent, can you imagine how many companies could have been in trouble? The bureau doesn't necessarily have to be launching lawsuits or shutting down companies over minor injustices – the bureau can use teaching, negotiate compensations, use shaming against some companies, and if necessary use lawsuits. Not many employees have the intelligence or money to sue companies. Even to launch a complaint or publicly expose companies as I am doing can land someone in trouble. If I said one lie here – they can sue me and put me in jail easily. In 2008, I worked for DirectBuy of Edmonton, A multi-million dollar company under a multi-billion dollar franchise. They promised me health care coverage within 3 months. I have evidence of over seven months service and personally paying my basic health care bills. It would be naive to assume DirectBuy forgot about my dues that long. Confronting them directly may not be very wise and cannot solve the problem of those who won't confront. The wisest thing is for a bureau like Mbioc to exist, then I could have reported it. Mbioc should then ask me to keep quite and assure me they will pay my health care bills while they investigate. Mbioc could then check the record history of DirectBuy of paying or not paying for Health care coverage. In this particular case they would have found that DirectBuy doesn't respect promise to many employees and seven months is too much even against one person? A board will then decide how to approach DirectBuy. In 2005/2006, I worked for a company called Distribution Directe In Montreal, Quebec. They have an open discriminatory policy that starts female twenty five cents per hour less than males on general labor, not other positions. Their excuse: 'men will do heavy lifting'. Instead of the lousy debate that female are generally underpaid, Why can't we have a bureau like Mbioc to help alleviate the general problem. This is indeed a perfect example that there are companies that discriminate against females but I refuse to accept we need the misguided lousy debate over a Bureau to look into such issues. Twenty five cents per hour in Canada cannot help underemployed immigrant men or white men to circumscribe debates that may make women see men as oppressors. The twenty five cents harms men perhaps more than women. Distribution Directe is a perfect example how hypocritical such debates are. The company had about 200 employees of at least 80% women yet discriminate against women. Well the fact is about 75% of those women were immigrants. The managers, quality control personnel, and HR personnel were mainly white women who were well paid more than the underemployed immigrant men who were working 25 cents per hour more than few white women but mainly immigrant women. So we have a lousy debate that women are discriminated against, failing to mention sometimes by women. We occasionally acknowledge the underemployment of millions of graduate immigrants and visible minorities discriminated against but not as the 'female discrimination' or minority female discrimination. Instead of the lousy debate, initiate a bureau like MBIOC, investigate and in such case as little as shaming will minimize the problems. Many respectable companies like banque Desjardin does business with Distribution Directe. Listing Distribution Directe as a company that discriminate against women and Banque Desjardin as a supporter through business will pause business forthwith and rectify the problem at this particular company. So lawsuits wouldn't be necessary in this case. In 2008, I also worked for a company that promised me $9.00 per hour for the first two weeks and that my wage will increase based on acquired deals . The second week my wage dropped to $8.36 per hour not based on poor performance but because they purposefully misinform people and have a weird commission based system. The system is based on a two weeks average. To attract people, They started me at $9.00 based on two weeks I haven't worked and without a single deal, I made deals on my first week yet the system assumes I have zero deals on my previous week that I haven't started (worked). Within three weeks my wage was at over $15 per hour due to high performance. I do not want to name them because it would amount to advertisement and also such minor lies just require teaching. However, I have the paychecks as proof, I am not just making claims. The same company made me signed bunch of papers and didn't give me copies of it. In 2008 and 2009, I worked for Laptop Depot, they also made me signed bunch of papers and never gave me a copy of what I signed. All contracts between employers and employees should be at least three copies – one for the employer, one for the employee, and one for a bureau like mbioc. If there is something grossly unjust in the contracts, Mbioc should at least inform the employees. Employees should also have the right to study contracts at least one day before signing it and/or cancel contracts within a day. At laptop Depot I met a Manager (Mr. Robb) who allegedly delayed an employee time to leave by few minutes so that the employee may miss his bus by “two hours at night time”. The employee's alleged crime was “arguing” with Robb, who sees himself as lord. On my last day at Laptop Depot The same Mr. Robb Accused me of “arguing with a customer”, he said he saw it on the customer's face. The problem is arguing with a customer is too serious and people can get fired for it or denied promotions due to such allegations. I brought the issues to the Laptop Depot management attention but as far I know nothing happened. A bureau like Mbioc could teach companies the dangers of accusation without evidence and to avoid the cruel unnecessary punishment Mr. Robb meted on a poor young employee. May be the young man never argued with Robb because certainly I was not arguing with the customer just to purchase something that wouldn't have added one dollar to my pocket. I have worked for companies where yelling is normalized, where people are scheduled to work eight hours but sent home prematurely repeatedly because business slowed down and they don't want to bear the labor cost; where bosses arrogantly see them selves as lords and loved to be begged; where people are layed off without a letter to possibly collect unemployment. All these are serious issues that our era must understand as unjust and detrimental to society. The injustices at the workplace contribute to street life resort and we are paying dearly. If people commit wrongs, we warn them of Karma; if companies commit wrong, we ignore them with indifference and instigate lawsuits with undeserved rewarding; when countries commit wrongs or rule by iron fist, we condemned them with sanctions. Collective evil choices by management or government inaction is worse than Individual evil choices. If a Just God gives “bad Karma” to individual evil choices, how about collective evil choices. If the Just God is waiting for imprecation – then may God teach the hard way all companies that knowingly abuse power on employees . It is time to actively confront workplace injustices beyond imprecations and lawsuits. The credit crunch and crumbling companies may not be all be about bad management of finances but perhaps of “bad karma” due to bad management of people. Multi-Billion dollar company denies Health Insurance to an employee
of over seven Months.
This is a perfect and verifiable example why Mr. Barrack Obama should fulfill his promise in ascertaining companies provide health insurance to deserving employees. I am an ex-employee of DirectBuy – A multi-billion dollar franchise that operates in the U.S and Canada. Personally, I feel betrayed not only by DirectBuy of Edmonton but also by DirectBuy (the franchise), by the Alberta province, by the Canadian and the U.S governments. It is about failed responsibilities due to one sided expectations between employers and employees; between governments and her citizens. Like most companies, DirectBuy promised me health benefits after three months but I have verifiable evidence of over seven months service without basic health insurance, dental or eye care insurance. A multi-billion dollar company that spends millions of dollars, monthly, in advertisement should have a chain of responsibility that ascertains basic care to her employees. When a parent franchise offer contracts to franchisees – there are often terms and conditions on shared responsibilities to enhance the “business” or their interest. Evidently, the terms and conditions often exclude poor employees' conditions or its monitoring. There are often endless fees to ascertain advertisement, customer satisfaction, executive bonuses, annual parties etc but not junior employees' interest like health care or guaranteed pay structure advancement. Financially, I worked for the number one DirectBuy Center, DirectBuy of Edmonton. Even if other DirectBuy centers have better employee treatment, why the parent company cannot have any sense of responsibility to my wellbeing? Why the other DirectBuy centers may fight over bad customer treatment at any center but not bad employee treatment at other centers? Why can't the parent franchise and other centers understand the effects of maltreated employees to customer satisfaction...? Why can't DirectBuy's customers understand their money... indirectly contribute to maltreatment without supervision? Why can't unsatisfied customers of DirectBuy understand the need for society to get involved may lead to their satisfaction? I feel betrayed by the province of Alberta as well. Alberta is the richest Province (state) in Canada yet seems not to have enough sense of responsibility to hard working residents. Unlike many provinces, rich Alberta expects her residents to pay about $44 a month for basic health care, excluding dental and eye care. If the province claims such fees are to encourage working then the province should try to understand the essence of employee well being. Compared to Quebec, a less fortunate province, values health care enough to cover both working and non-working residents. Unless the province of Alberta understands it cannot censor such facts, then no form of exaggerated wages in Alberta can permanently draw people to meet her labor shortages. I moved from DirectBuy, not yet from Alberta, but thousands are moving in to Alberta but moving out, as well, due to similar experiences. No one wins in the world of indifference. These kinds of normalized abuse and indifference adds up to affect weak minds into depression, resort to crimes, be on welfare, commit suicide, shooting rampage etc. It doesn't justify wrongs but it does influence wrongs. So governments should not see such cases as wrong to one person but wrong to society, at least fifty percent of any settlement/fine should go to a special government fund to cover health coverage for struggling companies, the elderly, children, the disabled etc. Everyone deserves health care coverage, especially the working poor. Beyond provincial level, I feel betrayed by the Canadian and U.S governments. If these rich governments can give operation licenses to DirectBuy, collect taxes, but indifferent to how DirectBuy treats her employees then we in a pitiful place where frustrated hard working employees may resort to crime to escape maltreatment. Compared to poor Cuba and many other governments, we can conclude that value, power, and choice are quite different across people, companies, societies, provinces, and governments. More power doesn't not necessarily mean better choice. There are countless smaller companies than DirectBuy that truly care about employee well being and struggle to meet health coverage and beyond. The fact is there are countless 'DirectBuys' and unless we have a bureau that actively guards employee interest, struggling companies may resort to copying heartless indifference. The present illusion that interest, supply, and demand will miraculously balance out or mercifully trickle down is a dangerous aberration against Love and Justice. Humankind must understand the difference between power and choice and proportionately analyze choice. I do not believe Governments should indifferently force companies to meet employee health care. However, we need a bureau that guards employee interest. Governments should cover for small struggling companies and loan big struggling companies. Companies with more than five employees or million dollars annual revenue should be pressured to meet simple expectations like health care coverage. Such bureau can use shaming and/or fines against companies like DirectBuy. Lawsuits are not preferred but sometimes necessary and can be better handled by such a bureau. For example, in my case, I have evidence of personally paying about $44 a month for basic health care and evidence of over seven months service through paid taxes at DirectBuy. Even though I am seriously considering a lawsuit against DirectBuy, there should be a bureau to make it easier for me. There are people without the intelligence and/or money to carry out such lawsuits. If such a bureau existed, I could have simply launch a complaint there. The bureau could investigate how many people were promised health coverage by DirectBuy but never met, am I discriminated against due to race, sex, or place of origin? Easily access ex-employees files at Canada revenue and IRS; Easily contact all of us who are discriminated against for a negotiated settlement or class-action lawsuit. We must understand that we have joint responsibilities to improve societies. Work place frustration contributes to street resort and Our effortless standing is too shameful and dangerous. Cop(s) or Faulty system ?
November 4, 2008 We often hear drug dealers bribing cops but do corporations... bribe cops? We talk about Police brutality but hardly police harassment. If we genuinely care about the number of cops killed on duty and/or people killed by cops, and/or people killed after stalkings, then here is a verifiable example that deserves investigation. While I am inclined to believe it is about a faulty system, it can certainly be about bribed cop(s). When I quit DirectBuy, I wrote a note that vividly states 'the sole purpose of the note is to clarify some misunderstanding'. Since they are upset that I am exposing them, they tried to use my harmless words to silence me. On October 15, 2008 at 1:22 pm I (jarga Gigo a.k.a. Jigster) received a call from someone who identified herself as Police officer Ms. Buchanan, of west end Edmonton, claiming DirectBuy filed a complaint against me that they feel threatened by my words. I told her that I am not threatening anyone . On October 16, 2008 at 7:31 the police officer called again, we spent over 7 minutes on the phone while she tries to lure me to visit her and to talk her about the complaint, I repeatedly told her that I am not interested in talking to her or any police officer about well intended words that is claimed as "threat" -- that I am not a threat to anyone and not interested in talking to her. On November 2, 2008 at about12:00pm: Two male police officers knocked on my door trying to get me talking... I told them that I am not interested in talking to them or any police officer-- That I am by no means threatening anyone. The first and most important question is since it is a written “threat”, why can't the cops honestly analyze my harmless words before wasting my time and their time (our money). The second question is how many times should we refuse a “request” before a repeated request amounts to harassment. The third question is how much time should cops wait on a possible “threat”. These are the genuine major questions that needs to be analyzed in reverse order. Assuming I was a “Threat”, why should the cops wait from October 16 to November 2? Imagine the possible harm, the headline news, the political requests for more power to cops etc. By physically visiting me with guns on a Sunday after I repeatedly turned down a request – Imagine if I had a hang-over or overreacted over the repeated requests. This is the kind of situations where cops get killed or kill people then lie to the world. Although the two male officers that visited me respectfully left after I told them that I am not interested in talking them. However, I don't think they should have visited me in the first place and they asked me if I wanted to step outside to talk to them because someone was with me in the house. Until cops video tape visits and interrogations, they should understand we need witness(es) where possible. Suppose they were bad cops, kill me outside to lie to the world that 'I reached out to my pocket' after “threatening” people. Couple of years ago I called for police cars and uniforms to be equipped with cameras link to a third party virtual storage points. Few months ago, I learned that President Barrack Obama did a similar thing on police interrogations at illinois – Now that he is responsible for the U.S, I call on him to understand police video taping can definitely save lives, especially minority lives. Canada and the world may follow suit. The second question is how many times should we refuse a “request” before a repeated request amounts to harassment.? We wrongly label some one time asking as sexual harassment. – Harassment is repeated unwanted requests... Considering phone banking, phone payments, and the countless companies that record phone conversations as legally binding, how comes a NO from a cellular phone to the cops is not enough? On the October 15 phone call, I gave Ms. Buchanan my address and other personal informations to avoid arrest. She told me she have my note in front of her, read two vague sentences out of the hundreds of peace oriented sentences and claimed they seem threatening to her. She called again on October 16 to spent over seven minutes because she won't take NO as an answer. She finally threatened me that I should go see her or she will send some cops to my place and angrily hanged-up. I was expecting them on October 17, but they chose M.I.A. On November 1st I re-propagated an article exposing DirectBuy – I wonder if another bribe was doled out? On November 2, I was visited with guns. The male cops didn't spent even two minutes inside my apartment, nor asked me my ID or the personal questions Ms. Buchanan asked. Understand the sharp contrast between Ms. Buchanan and the male cops. Who knows if the male cops were respectful only because a witness was with me? The final question is if a written “threat” that is truly harmless can yield so much harassment., what if it was a verbal allegation? How many of us report things but only to be told “there is not enough evidence or this is a civil case [until someone get hurt].”? If Ms. Buchanan truly saw threat, why wouldn't she threw me in jail? Why did she wait from October 16 to November2? Why would she waste time, gas, and tax payers' money on a written “threat” from a harmless dove? Censor, Bribed Cops, or faulty System (part 2) February 22, 2011 On the night of January 21, 2011, The police unnecessarily came to my home in an apparent attempt to arrest me. Thank God, they woefully failed, at least this time. Although I am personally concern, the primary reason I am sharing the information is to spare people from unnecessary arrest, save tax payers money, improve the Justice System, -- all of which will help build a better society. By myself, I simply cannot do it, so I am urging you to join me with prayers, letter writings, and anything you can possibly think may help. I will explain what happened and why I believe you should agree with me that it is censor and/or faulty system. I had a traffic ticket with the option to pay it or appear in court. I forgot to pay it and didn't appear in court. So the faulty norm is they will issue an arrest warrant for not appearing in court, without notification. I don't think I am above the law but I do believe faulty laws exist and it is our collective duty to improve such laws that are discriminately enforced. Most jurisdictions will wait to caught-up with the accused on such flimsy warrants and even then a discretionary decision may be taken. Few police chiefs will discriminately used such loopholes as “neighborhood crackdown” or racial profiling. On least rare cases, it can be used to humiliate and/or intimidate activists they disagree with. I believe my case was of the latter but even if you doubt my assumption, I will show how and why we need to change the norm (law). Since governments and most people understand money language beyond anything, I will argue my position financially before humanitarian reasons. Beyond warrants through traffic tickets, I believe all misdemeanor arrest warrants should be doubly notified through email, good old mail, telephone, text messaging etc. If they can notify Michael Jackson on serious felony charges that saved police gas money, give a guilty Martha Stewart to choose when to start imprisonment... why can't an ordinary tax paying person be notified on misdemeanor charges to possibly save all of us money. Was it cheaper to send the police to my house or to send me a letter that I wouldn't mind to pay for the stamps? The cost involved in carrying out arrests, from gas, time, vehicles etc, can easily add-up to lot of money that you and I must pay for. I will prefer to take the bus or walk to the police station at my convenient time than to be given the worst ride ever. May be they want to claim more arrests for some illusory reasons like image but this paragraph is about financial. Arrests cost us money directly and indirectly. Don't let them fool you with wild examples, we are talking about misdemeanor. Many responsible tax payers commit traffic offenses and may forget like I did. How much can society possibly lose through arrest? An arrest record may cost a person (plus society) different kind of opportunities depending on the level of education, general understanding, and/or their surrounding. The frustrations can also lead someone to overreactions that may have financial impact beyond the person. We cannot assume everyone knows how to answer, “have you ever been arrested.” And one can be smart in one aspect but dumb in another aspect. Suppose they succeeded in arresting me and it somehow cost me a job-- do we ever imagine the financial cost to society or should we just keep blaming the person where we could have help? Although seriously underemployed, of which I am partly to be blamed, In 2010, I have paid over fifteen thousand dollars in taxes through my day Job and that does not include sales tax and other taxes. Again, do not let them distract you with 'paying taxes don't put anyone above the law.' We are talking about misdemeanor and the possible impact of such faulty laws, obsessed with punishment. The minimum wage worker and middle class deserve notifications because Britney Spears can afford an accountant to remind her and they would have notified her on felony or misdemeanor charges just like they did to Michael Jackson, Martha Stewart and many other rich folks. Why the double standard? Beyond financial, we need to consider the humanitarian aspect and with sincerity. No one wants to be surprisingly humiliated. Why should we unnecessarily arrest a father or mother in front of their children? A mistaken teenager should not be unnecessarily arrested while going to a nightclub. The fewer evil men may come-up with many excuses like absconding, but the reality remains, most people will tackle misdemeanor arrest warrants face on. With notification, The difference to the accused is at the most convenient time, less stress, and sometimes to completely avert arrest on a win-win basis with society. Our resources will be better utilized to reduce worse crimes. Time! Why should police waste precious time we paid them for on flimsy cases to give way to worse crimes? About A week after they wasted so much time to arrest me... A senior police officer was on the newspapers lamenting on the city's high crime and murder rate – claiming that they don't have time and human resources to meet expectations. If two police officers spent so much time on me on traffic related offense, I can certainly see why you don't have time for worse crimes but will other ordinary citizens understand? Working efficiently often works effectively! A simple letter from the Judge that an arrest warrant has been issued against me – That I can either pay the fine, report to a police station, or to eventually face possible arrest would have been much more efficient and effective than the indirect route they took. A well paid robot Judge issuing arrest warrant through police but not to the person; a useless police chief wasting his own time on sending two officers with a car, gas, guns, telephone, radio, time etc; Some robot police officers knocking at my door after 11pm, cowardly having one hand on the gun as evidently shown through my security camera system – All on a misdemeanor! If they had killed me based on any excuse, you may still believe they are doing a good Job. If they have arrested me, criminalize me through overreactions or other ways, then a new route have to be trod. This time from the police to the Judge, to possible imprisonment that you may have to pay for. The same judges and politicians who skipped notification to poor residents on misdemeanor will then argue they don't have money to keep criminals or law made criminals. Send them back to the streets with fake chances. The only chance I may have then is to join a gang and the only chance I need now includes a simple notification that may preserve my dignity, save tax payers money, and uplift society in general. Why do I consider it censor through intimidation? The U.S has been monitoring me right after September 11, when I wrote one of the most damning articles and when they were nervously keeping a datbase of people who even read certain books. One of the newspapers that published my article, loved it so much to have it as sub-headline but with an editor disclaimer that 'they don't necessarily condone my thoughts...'. It was the first and last time I saw such understandably but cowardly disclaimer on a newspaper to avoid punishment. I have other political issues with the U.S government and will keep fighting. Through pressure, The U.S is using the Canadian Immigration against me, Canadian police on me, even private citizens to impact my private life. This very case is one of the latest I endured unnecessarily. Perhaps, using GPS tracking through my phone, they knew I was at home. The cops were so determine that night , knocking hard on my front door, back door, and even the window! – all of which can be verified through my security cameras. They wasted so much time and I can see them talking on their radio, reporting to whoever sent them. I will have few photos of the police at my home on www.mbioc.net to possibly increase credibility. Once again, I am worried beyond myself but strongly believe we can improve the faulty Justice system. Try to value your tax dollars and try to value social activists. Western countries, especially the United States and Canada are terribly engage is passive censor that is increasingly becoming active censor. Obama: America's pain killer,
World's placebo Life is about choices and there are always choices available. Rescuing companies is never “the only option”. It is not a crime to Rescue GM, Crysler, AIG, the banks etc but government could have pass laws that could have steer them to smooth buy out, merger option, or smooth bankruptcy. Stimulus bailout is not sweeping changes, Mr. George Bush and many presidents did that. A micro example of how an irresponsible person may deserve to break ownership of a property exist in companies. No company is too big to be bought or to “fail” -- The “fail” should just mean transferabble. A company is primarily made of material and human assets – all of which are transferable and replaceable. There are responsible small car companies and other billionaires who would have gladly bought GM and Crysler at the right price excluding the fictitious value. Even Bankruptcy do not mean the parts making machines will be burned. Some one will buy them and the dealers will continue to sell cars. My experience and the www.mbioc.net movement clearly show Junior Employees may be brighter than their bosses. The illusory notion that “paid” millions of dollars to irresponsible top employees at AIG is mere fear that misunderstands the scale of workplace 'plagiarism' from employee opinions of action and inaction. So “too big to fail” is an illusion that may steal endless bailout just as 'too big to be fired' may steal bonuses from tax dollars and opinion dues. Just as Government can pass new laws to tax bailout bonuses, government could have pass new regulations to avoid abrupt failure of bankruptcy while steering a smooth buy out. The banks are slightly different but even Obama acknowledged that some banks acted responsibly. Some smaller responsible banks could have been helped to take over the big irresponsible banks. Another interesting thing Obama is rightly taking on is health care. However, he is yet to precisely mention how he will cut the cost. An option he proposed is more like 'auctioning' to pressure the 'big guys' on pricing. Let us push him to be brave – we need regulation on companies that take tax dollars and charity. For example, do you understand how much tax dollars goes to cancer research? Do you know how many millions/billions we put in a cancer charity boxes through coffee shops and fund raising events? Do you know that some pills (medicine) cost over $10,000. They are abusing people's in need situation based on efforts without guarantee. Some people in the medical field are making more than AIG bonuses and with no regulation --it seem wiser not to find the cure so that tax dolllars and charities will foolishly bank on “trust” without accountability. Tax funded and Charity taking companies should be held accountable beyond financial issues of 'free market' but also on moral grounds. The minimum wage worker who drop pennies for cancer and other medical charities deserve more than information and auctioning. The media and the government should step in against some companies. Today, he spoke at Georgetown university acknowledging the importance of funding IMF. Before the G20 summit, Obama failed to urge for anything meaningful for the poor countries – I sincerely doubt if Obama initiated the push for IMF funding, he may have supported it as a follower and now taking credits. Obama seem ever indifferent towards creating jobs in third world countries or even ending western subsidies that snip jobs from poor countries. The reality is he didn't put America and the world in this miserable position. Likewise, he cannot rescue neither without putting people to work. So learning, working, and having fun is the rescuer, not Obama. Let's focus on the cure, not the pain killer, nor the placebo. His Charisma may be attracting the whole world but his choices toward the world is yet to meet my expectations. He finally paraphrased what I have been saying years before him, that whosoever respects learning, working and others' right to have fun deserves fun – unfortunately, he limited his statement “in America.” May God bless whosoever respects love and Justice, not just America. The Wisdom in the Adam and Eve Story Wisdom exists in fiction and non-fiction. Accordingly, we don't have to accept the Adam and Eve chronicle as fact to admit its marvelous wisdom. Personally, the story of Joseph is the most entertaining story in the Bible and the Koran but the most edutaining and wisdomatic is the Adam and Eve story . This is a story with astounding characters that sums up the most essential knowledge to help us on earth and possibly in life after death. I will analyze the story as non-fiction using the originally characters but focusing on the Wisdom. If you an atheist or an arrogant indoctrinated feminist, please replace God with character A, Satan as character B, Eve as character C etc – And accompany me for the sake of the wisdom. The Koran and the Bible claim God created Adam and Eve (Awa) and asked the angels to “make obeisance” to Adam. The angels did but Satan/Iblis refused. Beautiful conflict! Did God snapped, fired Satan for refusing orders, etc? No. Satan was asked why s/he didn't followed orders. Satan claims s/he was created from fire and Adam from Mud, so Satan assumes s/he is better. Wisdom, wisdom, wisdom but it was hidden to the elders. How can anyone who read this story claims superiority because God made them White, black, women, or men? May be the children of Satan (character B) still think in what and where from. Anyway, God didn't demote Satan for refusing obeisance but for the how and why arrogance. Excuse me! 'I don't believe in God and Jigster you can't speak for God.' OK, I mean smart people ask and Judge based on how and why. A dummy boss may not fire a worker for refusing orders. Beside, Satan didn't refuse obeisance to God or those made of air, s/he only refused obeisance to muddy Adam. Now Satan said we should worship and beg each other instead of God. How many will fall on her trap? The humble God is so Just that he gives the devil her due. Satan demanded her pay for how many 'years' of worship? Oops! I thought God created the world in “six days”. How much pay does Satan deserve for five and half days? Alright, we agreed we will focus on the wisdom. Good people respect the dues of even their enemies. If only the devil understood this wisdom, s/he won't be so bias in her media propaganda against Hip-Hop, nor will s/he be indifferent to the working poor. Disgraced and angry, Satan defiantly sought avenge against Adam in these words, “Then I will certainly come to them from in front, behind, from their right-hand side and their left-hand side; and you will not find most of them thankful.” (The Koran 7:17”) . Wow! Did s/he said it in front of Adam or just before God alone? Seems like the latter, because s/he said “most of them”, not all of them. I thought it was just Adam and Eve, or just Adam at this time; or did Satan knew we will reproduce? Again, the wisdom is like what Mr. Abraham Lincoln declared about 'fooling some people and not all the people...' First sign of God's anger or judgment: “Get out of this (state), despised, driven away -- whoever of them follow you, I will certainly fill hell with you all.” (Koran 7:18”). Wow! It seems as God did not favor us above Satan after all – if we do what Satan did, we will be punished. This is a perfect evidence that we cannot be good or bad based on God's choice. The big question is if Adam and Eve reproduced, did Satan reproduced or did s/he create (clone) a species (weed) as Jesus implied in Mathew Chapter 13: 24? Either way, I strongly believe Satan as a species multiplying just like us. The second big question is if some of Adam's children failed by following Satan, is it possible that the children of Satan to repent and follow the good children of Adam to success? Life is a distinctive test from collective tests. Then God warned Adam about Satan as an “avowed enemy” to humankind. Allowed them to eat hundreds, thousands, or millions of different trees (fruits) but ordered them to stay away from one tree. Is it through Satan's determination or Adam's weakness did Adam fell? Here the bible and Koran have slightly different versions. In the Bible, “For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived [at first], but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with modesty” (Timothy chapter 2: 13:). Some feminists reject Christianity based on this account. In the Koran , “But Satan made them both fall from it...” (2:36). Some other version of the Koran and narration of Prophet Muhammad essentially echoed the Bible that Satan went through Eve to get Adam. Needless to argue if it was the man's or woman's fault – the reality is they disobeyed God's order and Satan proved determination and partial success is not exclusively Godly. Didn't God said he will punish those who followed Satan? Is it not the same crime of disobeying? No! God is too smart to judge based on WHAT, he judges based on how and why. Satan disobeyed with inaction because of arrogance, where as Adam and Eve disobeyed with action due to fear and greed. Showlove Trinity claims there are only three main sins with corollaries. Fear, greed, and arrogance are the main sins but Arrogance is by far much worse. This does not mean fear and greed are not sins or punishable, certainly they are. Another sharp distinction between Satan and Adam's ways is repentance. Satan was defiant after sinning, whereas Adam felt shame. Here again it signals God tolerates more than he forgives and his 'tolerance' may include partial punishment . Those of humankind who sin in arrogance will be punished as God promised. An interesting possibility is Satan misunderstood God's order. Why? Obeisance to us may not mean that we are better than Satan, nor the angels. May be God was celebrating what his “hands created in his own image”. Unknowingly, Satan disrespects God more than S/he disrespects our muddy nature. Again, mistake and misunderstanding due to arrogance is grave to God and the Godly. So there is no excuse for Satan. S/he impairs the celebration with distrust before choice. Everyone deserves open-skeptical mind and we shouldn't prejudge unless we are copying Satan. Another thing that fascinates me about this story is the humble Nature of God through out the episode. I delayed to mention how the angels 'feared' humankind will be violent even before our creation. Were they right that we will shed blood or is Satan to be blamed? Is shedding blood the worse and only sin or did God denied the possibility? Certainly God is not a dictator as he discussed our creation before creating us. He made his decision but listened to the Angels and Satan even after disobeying. If God was raging even as a small storm, will Satan, Adam and Eve dared disobeyed God? One of the reason the heathens deny God's existence is his patience with the heathens– some of them will learn the hard way through karma or hell as surprise. It is almost like how the police and government may knowingly allow small criminals to surprise the kingpin. In the case of God it is not weakness but his love for Justice that allows injustices to ultimately fulfill Justice. God forbids himself injustice and rejoices through Justice. There is lot more I can analyze in respect to this story but time and space may not advice. Trust me, there is no story in the Koran and Bible as this story. If we shouldn't abandon Hollywood fiction, no Satanic feminist should fool us to ignore the wisdom in this story. If they want to debate based on gender, the debate should be which gender is more guilty of fear, greed, and arrogance by copying or listening to 'aliens'? It is time to share a little bit more, as only God truly understands the full wisdom in this story. Mentioned in the Bible and Many times in the Koran, Why God re-emphasizes this story? What is in it for us? Part one advised those who frowned at this story to replace the characters with character A, character B etc, to perhaps admire the beauty and learn from the Wisdom. The reality is understanding the deep meaning of the used names can establish the story above critics' accusations. We can look in history, learn from language, or wait for Homosexuals to admire the story before us. The Original language of the Bible was not English but it couldn't be by sheer coincidence to choose Eve as the name of the character. Eve means 'time before a great event', like Christmas eve, new years' eve etc. Or may be Eve means queen of the evening... just joking. A similar thing can be said about Adam. In Islam, We know the story as Adam and Awa (Hawa) as their names and, luckily, Arabic is a living language. Adam is from the root word of Alif- dal- mim –which means seasoned or something mixed, mud etc. Our original creation was through mixture of things but even our recreational process is through mixture of somethings from male and female. So the name Adam is befitting not only to the male character but to humankind and that precisely warrants God to address us as children of Adam – 'children of mixture'. Anyone who read the Koran knows that virtually anywhere it mentioned men it mentioned women, 'believing men and believing women; adulterous men and adulterous women... is rampant in the Koran. Somehow, the same thing cannot be said about the Adam and Awa story. In the Koran, the name Awa (hawa or eve) is essentially omitted, it's Adam, Adam, Adam, children of Adam, wife of Adam, Ibliss or Shaitan. In a nutshell, the Koran didn't see it about male and female but about wisdom. And it didn't see the deception part as the “great event” or the 'greatest event', that part is less mentioned in the Koran. So where did the name Hawa came from and what does it mean? The closest I saw, it is from the root: Ha- Wa- Ya which means “desire, emotion, beguile, infatuate, passion, fall...” among other things. Again, the name is befitting and I still don't mind to replace it with character C, as long as we agree that there can be good and bad women. Iblissa and Satan (shaitan) are understood to be the same character. Iblissa is from the root : Ba -Lam -Sin-: which means despair, depression, unable to see right etc. Satan (Shaitan) is from the root word: Shin-Tay-Nun – which means deeply concealed, rebellious, faulty etc. Although I cannot discuss the meaning of the names in Aramaic, the language Of the beloved Jesus Christ, we do know that Aramaic and Arabic are very close, the translated names in English is befitting, and changing the Characters to A, B, And C will still retain enormous wisdom on this story. An average writer or teacher won't repeat anything unnecessarily. So if God is a great writer/teacher, then we should at least guess there is a reason for the emphasizes through repetitions. Beyond the repetitions, God described the story as “great news”. In chapter 38, verse 67, of the Noble Koran, Surah Sad, After narrating short stories of about nine Prophets, an opening seal reads: “Say, it is the great news, from which you turn away...” It describes the story of Adam and placed a closing seal that reads: “And you will surely know its information after a while.” Wow! What is in this story for God to consider it great, how did He know the world will be frowning at the story, and when will we fully know the secret information buried in the story? Mass communication is very difficult because you have to consider the recipients' levels. An address to one child is not easy; a whole class (level), school, communities, countries, world address may have to compromise a lot. Imagine writing a book for the world , plus, considering about thousand years of life spans. Some part of great books like the Bible and the Koran may sometimes seem boring to us because a different time was in consideration. If the part was written for the future, it usually seem confusing. However, some of what may seem boring or confusing may be pregnant with lot of information. So we must crack our minds when we face product of mass communication, especially religious books. When God told the Angels that he wanted to create humankind as viceroy on earth, the angels were suspicious and said: “Will you put one who will corrupt it and shed blood, while we praise you continually.” As mentioned in part one, God teaches us through the story the essence of consultation. God being God, way above the Angels, consulted the Angels about his Plan and didn't punish the Angels for disagreeing with His suggestion. Considering the gap between God and the angels, how many of those who read this story ignore due consultation or over frown at disagreement? How many of us will fulfill the expectation of our viceroy status? How many of us know how to respectfully disagree like the Angels did to God? How many of us will surprise the angels by not corrupting the world but straightening it; How many of us will not shed blood but save lives? How many of us will not blaspheme but sincerely praise God? Beyond individual level, governments can learn how to govern from this story. As God proceeded with the 'Veto power' and Satan arrogantly rebelled. The Story taught us the essence of investigation by an omnipotent God. Knowing fully well why Satan rebelled, God still asked her why S/he refused obeisance. How many of those who read the story went on to claim supremacy based on God's choice? How many of us continue with other forms of arrogance and near zero investigations...? What can we learn from Satan and her wordings? While God knows best, but up to this moment of the episode, it didn't seem like Eve was created. After Eve was created, did God asked the Angels, Satan, or Adam to make obeisance to Eve? In part one, we mentioned Satan did not refuse obeisance to God and those made of air but to our muddy nature . Will Satan make obeisance to an extremely beautiful Eve or will S/he hate Adam and Eve equally or disproportionately? Satan was not 100% evil, so will S/he feel like S/he owe something to the female species due to Eve or will S/he continue to hate both? Will s/he ever repent or will s/he be ever despair as her name? Whether or not Satan besets through Eve to recede both. S/he evidently tried both of them and will s/he concentrate on one sex, race, country, etc? Beyond gender, we shouldn't be the window to Satan, nor follow each other in evil ways. Or more importantly, we shouldn't mimic Satan through evil whispers, arrogance, cowardly and greedy promises. In this world of few good men, fewer evil men, and bunch of followers, it is extremely important to understand the dangers in naivety and the importance of learning and tolerance. If I failed to show you the greatness in this story, remember God said, 'it is a great story...' and perhaps if you reflect on it, you will be able to show us lot more.
